one of my favorite sweets – dark chocolate

If you are looking for something sweet,  try dark chocolate.  Cocoa, the main ingredient in dark chocolate, has been associated with two perks:  increasing brain and heart blood flow. Believe it or not the brain only weighs 2% of your body weight, but requires 20% of the body’s energy needs.   The elevated blood flow helps the necessary energy arrive to your brain.   Enhanced blood flow is also crucial to the heart to prevent heart disease and heart attacks.  To reap the benefits of dark chocolate, choose a chocolate bar that has a minimum of 70% cocoa.


ChocoloveI have tried my share of dark chocolate and by far my favorite is Chocolove XOXOX.  I love the 70% cocoa and  77% cocoa dark chocolate bars.  Sometimes when I am feeling a bit wild and crazy, I add a chunk of peanut butter to the chocolate  for my own Reeses Peanut Butter creation.   If you have not tried Trader Joe’s Creamy Peanut Butter, the imagenext time you are in Marlton stop by Trader Joe’s on Route 73 and pick up a jar.    You will not be disappointed.   It goes perfect with the Chocolove .  A second favorite is Smuckers Natural Peanut Butter, which is also quite delicious

So if you have a yearning for something sweet, savor a few squares of dark chocolate a few days per week knowing you are improving your well-being at the same time.
